I updated my laptop to the alpha a couple of weeks ago, and yes it was OK, nothing to write home about, but I hardly use the laptop nowadays.  Just updated to the beta on my netbook, and WOW.  If Vista had the wow factor, well roger me sideways, nice.

I still haven't made up my mind on the usefulness of the netbook overall. Having said that, I seldom use a desktop these days. When I do, it's unlikely to be Windows based unless it happens to belong to a client.

I had to smile the other day when a client running a Mac Pro tower installed with Leopard and running Windows XP in a virtual machine called to complain that Windows had crashed big time. I asked him to restart the Windows session and he was amazed to find it come back up undamaged by the experience. Had the machine been running XP on its own, I thnk his expeience would have been rather different.

I'm in the middle of clutter here in the office and need to spend a couple of hours after dinner sorting out paperwork etc. Great way to spend a Sunday evening. I think a brisk walk later will get the circulation going before the temperature drops too far although by contrast the last couple of days have been bright and sunny and relatively mild overnight compared with recent weeks of freezing temperatures, rain, snow and fog. Maybe, just maybe, we're starting to see the beginnings of Spring.
